About Meipaadam:
The ancient warrior art of Meipaadam (in Tamil means, Body Training) conditions the body & calms the mind. Meipaadam has been not only practiced as a precursor to martial arts but also has been used for rehabilitation of warriors injured at war.
Other than enhacing the flexibility, stamina & strength in the body, it is believed that the physical & mental/emotional benefits of Meipaadam movements are also due to improving flow of Prana/Qi in the Nadi/Meridians - clearing energy stagnations that cause health issues. Meipaadam is accessible to all age groups & fitness levels.

About the teacher: Roopa Venky
BSc Ayurveda, Lic. Homeopathy, RSHom, MSc Neuroscience, MSc Psychology, Past Life regression therapist.
My life journey so far has been mostly about healing & health preservation, through the integrated use of Homeopathy, Ayurveda, Regression therapy, Qigong, Taichi & Meipaadam.
Over the years, the martial arts have helped me become mindful, understand and appreciate the importance of the natural body alignment & how holding tension in the muscles can block the flow of Qi/Prana causing health issues.
It's the need of the current times to get back in touch with our bodies, through traditional arts, for better overall physical & mental wellbeing.
